THE ORIGIN OF ADDY
This project was created originally for a printmaking project, but I fell in love with the character and decided to turn it into an illustrated series. The prompt was to create an image of something that you feel represents you in a unique way. I created this character based on my life as a child before being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. The Origin of Addy is my second illustration I created as more of an origin story explaining that many children with ADHD have big imaginations, which also come with some fears. This one explains one of the major ones, fears of the dark. This project is the sequel to my original, giving you a sneak peek into Addy's life as a child before he could learn how to overcome his anxiety and become the superhero that we love.

The Origin of Addy is a poster illustration created within my series The Great Adventures of Addy the Squirrel that I created in 2022. This is the colored illustration version, using color to bring the piece to life. The project was created in order to really spread some awareness on ADHD, while also giving it a personal approach by creating the character in a way that represents me and the struggles I went through before getting diagnosed.
